Last day of 08

I first started a blog because I was a girly computer nerd - something that has turned out to be of huge value now in my career - then I started a new blog because my life was changing from being a high schooler into a uni student...and then from a uni student into the real world with a career and everything.

This past year my life has changed some more...I got married (happiest day of my life)...I've made huge strides in my career....I've loved something, lost something....and we added to our little family in the form of a puppy.

Life is pretty good and I can't wait to see what 2009 brings.

So here are my resolutions...

  • Stop eating Meat (and probably eventually go completely vegan but we're starting with little steps people)
  • Take more Pictures
  • Be more social
I don't think I need to explain or justify any of these....resolution 1 has already started and the other two will follow in time.

xoxo see yo on the other side!!

when can I take the christmas tree down?

Now or not until some random date in the new year?

2009 Means....no meat!!!

I'm not going to eat anymore meat...i'm saying it's my new years resolution since we're so close to 2009 but I guess that gives me today and tomorrow to pike out huh?

It's not going to happen though...my grocery bill is much healthier however I guess we'll see how long it lasts when my husband starts to complain about the lack of meat in HIS diet...I figure if he wants meat he can cook it himself!!

The price of beauty

Unfortunately I can't justify an hours drive out of town to get to my favorite beauty therapist...not only can i not justify it I don't really want to for various reasons...however that raises a dilemma, when we lived in the city I found a beauty therapist from a friend's recommendation however I think friends are vary quick to make recommendations before they've actually assessed the situation themselves, lesson learned. So this time I need to find a beauty therapist that I want to go to myself the criteria is:

  • Spa has to be close to home and work so if I  get a randomly timed appointment I can either lounge at home or stay at work for a bit longer.
  • The beauty therapist herself needs not to be a freak and can hold an appropriate conversation while she's tearing hair off my body. She's not too old, not too young and has the intellect of a person as opposed to a trained monkey.
  • The environment needs to be as relaxing as possible for both the nice treatments like facials and massages and the not so nice like waxing

I can find lots of places that are close to home and work, and I guess finding the right therapist is through trial and error BUT I don't want to be the girl that has ghastly stories to tell about beauty therapists because I tried to find my own without any recommendations....still I don't want to go somewhere that someone recommends, I don't need the same person waxing me that waxes my neighbor or my friends.

So I'm starting my search for the perfect beauty therapist through REPUTIBLE salons, in saying that though just because you've heard of them and they have a good reputation doesn't necessarily mean they're any good.

Any ideas girls?
